VIGNETTE VIDEO PROJECT

Project Description

In a team of three students, the goal was to create a film of vignettes. The students had to come up with an idea and keep space and a sense of place in mind. Transitions were important to tie the video together. The principles of design were also important in creating the video.

Concept Statement

With the use of repetition, rhythm, and scale, the typical Baton Rouge daily activities were filmed through a dog’s perspective. The film does not immediately reveal whose point of view you are actually looking through. With the progression of the video the viewer discovers that it is actually a dog.  The dog starts his day in at home, heads to school, visits downtown, hangs out with friends at the dog park, and finally returns home. Horizontal and vertical scenes are repeated creating rhythm through all the scenes. To utilize scale we zoomed in and out of objects to show them larger and smaller.  For the transition, we utilized peopled walking by to connect the scenes. The team members are Brandy Balthazar, Caroline Gremillion, and Marci Defelice. The responsibilities where equal distributed to make this project successful.
